Whalley Hawkes Paisley Trigg (WHPT)

The Whalley, Hawkes, Paisley, Trigg (WHPT) method replaces the biological monitoring working party (BMWP) metrics with a much longer data set to provide a more robust assessment technique. The underlying BMWP principle of using families of macro-invertebrates as biological indicators remains. The method has been designed to respond to the presence of organic pollution but can also be used for other water quality parameters.
